I hate it when they announce stuff in a damn local time codes. Why can't everyone just use GMT ~ Snipped as per TOS ~... Or at least UTC...

So, when will this happen in CET time (Berlin, Vienna, Prague, Ljubljana) zone?

Yeah, CEST is Central European Summer Time, not Central Eastern Summer Time. The omnly that's carrying "eastern" in it is EEST for Eastern Europe Summer Time. Why they always have to complicate simple things...

Earlier it was written as Central Eastern Summer Time on AVG's Website but now they have notified it and corrected it.

No Identity Protection in free version. Bummer...

    EDIT:
Hm, download.com wasn't mentioning it, but Identity Protection was indeed available under components when i was installing it (still performing). Hm. I hope it's the real deal, because if it is, AVG Free 2011 will be awesome.

There is an awful bug with minimize, maximize and close buttons under WindowsXP. If i move cursor over those buttons ebtire interface starts flashing like the modern skin is just an overlay over standard Windows frame and theme.

This is a bit confusing. Comparison chart is saying that FREE version doesn't have Identity Protection, while i do have this feature in a FREE edition.
Now i'm not quite sure what to think of. I hope it's just a mistake on a webpage and IP technology will remain in FREE version. Because now, AVG will be a really damn good competition against avast! and AVIRA. Even 24 hour update cycle isn't as problematic to me anymore since IP is included, which fills the gap between long updates.

I am sure there must be some mistake on AVG's webpage.. Even they haven't mentioned any IP technology/feature in paid version of AVG Anti-Virus.. BTW i guess they have discontinued the standalone version AVG Identity Protection ...

IMO AVG Identity Protection is closely related to Norton's Anti-Bot ...

Like I said in the Beta thread, the IDP protection is included in the free version.
Also the link to PC Analyzer, which is just a link to an buy page though, let's hope you can disable it in the installer.

Good deal, I guess. Except the fact I hate the GUI.

So has anyone who installed it actually got the ID protection in the free version?

I am installing the final now, but I liked the beta a lot. Including IDP is a big step in the right direction for AVG.

And I like the new GUI. It is pretty much the old one, but they made it a little crisper. I am surprised by the gray colored icons though, as they could really use a splash of color.

LinkScanner's SafeSearch is acting strange in Firefox. If i search for lets say "rejzor" in Google, all the search results have green checkmark next to result.
If i search for "antivirus", first few links from Kaspersky, avast! and AVIRA don't have any checkmarks while all the links behind these do have. It's strange...

Apart from glitchy GUI and these funky search results ratings, i really like their latest version. I just have to test it against live malware to see how it does but i'm being very optimistic. Identity Protection used to be very effective in Norton Anti-Bot form when i tested it.

Interesting. Then it could be related to Norton Safe Web Lite i also had in Firefox from before. I'll try removing it...
