I just heard about Heuristic.ArchiveBomb. Can you tell me more about it, and is AVG anti-spyware set up to detect it? If not, can AVG not be affected by its presence?

This is a name used by a^2, if I am not mistaken, and it identifies archives that are so big (nesting levels etc.) that they can actually attack the anti-malware unpacking abilities. AVG AS is designed so that it should not be affected by such archives, ignoring the real 'bombs'. The on-access scanner will always detect any malware that might be in such an archive, no matter how deep, since such a malware has to be unpacked first. So you do not have to worry about it
