Doesn't seem to display any except the firewall "ad". Would have to use for longer period of time (which I won't since it's on VM).

This program seems a bit high on CPU usage compared to others.

Can we look forward to improved test scores as a result?

imo this version is lighter on the system then before for some reason. i was testing it again today against some pretty nasty stuff and some zero day. sadly the detection is still (imo) below some others and the cleaning was ehh it "failed" to clean a few things. it actually said "failed" to clean.

but on a good note i was very impressed with the browsing speed. the browsing was very quick and hardly noticeable. if they did not try to force the "extras" on you and could improve the detection a bit i would even consider running it for a while.

I don't know. The new "outbreak detection" implies cloud support, yet the actual program itself makes very little reference to it in the settings. Differences may be minimal in that case. We'll just have to wait and watch. That being said, AVG claims an improvement:

After some investigation, it appears to me that the new cloud detection feature is applied to identity protection only, that is, it works by querying the cloud on file execution, augmenting the behavioural analysis with a reputation check. Ostensibly, this means that only the real-world tests will see any significant improvement. Gains elsewhere will be small.

    I tried the final version....
    Nice GUI
    Light

struggled to quarantine a 5mb adware (on extraction of a malware pack with three files).....Finally quarantined it after three similar alerts ( and about 1.5 min)

There is no way that I can see to clear the History Scan results. Why is AVG not allowing this?

Scan Results is the only one that lets you clear. There is no option to clear list in Resident Shield Results, Identity Protection Results, and Email Protection Results.

I've tried AVG a few days, what I don't like: While AVG is updating it's nearly impossible to use my notebook. They should really improve the update process. :doubt:
