Can you at least tell us if NV AI is in the current beta?

I am using it daily, they need to slap a GUI on it and ramp up the backend infrastructure to easily handle the expected amount of people in the beta. Beta is supposed to start in Q4.

Use AI/machine learning on my experience with heuristic/generic detection and doing the math with lots of Fermi GPUs. I would rather mine lots of Bitcoins with those, but oh well...
In short, it is something that will give the malware writers headaches.

@Stefan: NV AI is an interesting idea, but poses some issues for consumers (if it is intended to be used that way). What happens to people with Radeon cards? Wouldn't it be better to port the application to a more generic API such as DirectCompute?

It is a cloud solution, all the computations are done on the Avira servers. It doesn't depend on the user's hardware.

The "NV" part doesn't mean Nvidia ;) It is just the short form of the internal project name.

I would guess that the answer is yes. I don't see why this wouldn't be included in all products as it sounded like it would be incorporated into the engine. I don't think it's an "extra" like the Web Guard or Mail Guard.

well something has to give. The free and the paid AV are now almost identical with web scanning. For paid consumers of the AV you have to question this. Also cloud products demand a load on servers and I cant see Avira just giving it to them free. For me, put it in the suite and paid AV.

I think it would be smart to use NV Ai in free edition as well. You have to acknowledge the fact that there are millions of AVIRA Free users that can contribute through this system to the payable users.

I mean even though you don't get paid from these free users, they are a valuable resource of statistics, samples, data and so on that you can leverage to protect payable users and also free ones.

I'm really looking forward to this feature if it's as good as Stefan says it is (and i see no reason not to believe him).

Look a little closer. There are still important differences between paid and free.
