Is it true that the time starts when you buy the license? I notice the code still works, but I don't need it right now.

For the record, the coupon code even works today.

I only have 2 computers that need licenses. Gotta put on thinking cap.

You can get IS free until Q2 2012. Why not just do that while you wait for another deal?

From where? I no longer use AV real time but have some relatives that would be interested in that deal.

    Thanks

Could it be that by "free" he means at no higher cost than Pro?

If the Wilders discount is no longer running, the 50% discount upgrade from within 'avast! Free' still has legs.

Maybe these ads aren't always as annoying as we say they are! ;)

Is that only if you try the link on its own or working from the ad in 'avast! Free' as well? (I'm no longer within viewing range of a Free installation.)

Check some of numerous giveaway sites, like e.g. offer from ghacks.net (July,18th) - it´s a German promo ,and gives an Avast IS license ´till April 2012.

The coupon code still works. At the bottom of the checkout page, enter 55WILDERS2010 and click Next. You can do so before you provide any personal or payment information. When the page reloads, you will see the 55% discount reflected in the price.

I checked using the green 'Upgrade' button in avast! Free.
I'm presented with a 50% discount if I'm in Australia, but not in the US and the pages are different.

Seems the discount is region specific.

so it seems the cart checkout page has now changed back to the older style it was different for a few days there and the code didnt work as long as you get the normal old style checkout page as shown in the bottom pic above the code still works. i just used it to extend my lic's and my mom's as well.

also for those who have existing lic's and want to extend them just go ahead and buy the lic for the length of time you want and make sure you match the number of lic's you currently have and email support@avast.com and they will "merge" them together for you so you dont loose any time from your old lic and it will remain good for the time you had left PLUS the time you just bought, so dont be afraid of this starting when you buy it. they will also make up normally for any time it takes off the new lic in emailing back and forth. i have done this prob a dozen times for me and my customers without a single issue.

Good deal for a great product :thumb:

Avira & Avast are the only 2 AV's I'll put on my computer or anyone elses. For people that don't use outbound FW's and/or don't want to pay for an AV, I always recommend Avast. Great protection for free.

I have heard Nortons is much better these days. The detection rates are now up there with the best, and I hear it's light & stable. But I've seen it burn too many people too many times in the past that I decided "never again".

Back on the subject of discounts, this offer just "popped up" in 'avast! Free'.
