Oh we're taking this absolutely seriously, and completely agree with you that it should not happen, ever.

For your info, it was down for about a day roughly 10 days ago and then down again for about 10 hours this past Sunday.

The good thing is that it seems that we have now identified and fixed the problem and hopefully, it will not happen again (at least anytime soon).

BTW here's two graphs from the streaming updates monitoring service - one for the last week, and the second for the last year. The "gaps" (whites) are downtimes.

    Thanks

What is the title of the vertical graph and the color codes mean what?

I know that me knowing this information will not help matters one bit but I'm just curious to know everything that the graph is showing.

I'd say it's a Streaming Updates server utilization per region (Europe, Asia, America etc). But i can be wrong...

Yes sorry the graph shows the number of streaming update clients connected to the server. Each color is one server - with like colors being in the same data center.

And for your info, my own experience as well as for many, many users posting up (in three threads last time I checked) in your own forum was "Connection not established" for 30-40 hours last weekend and the weekend previous to that.

Glad you've got it squared away.

    Thanks and Good Luck!

Seems like Avast does not have the server capacity for all its users. Might have to change streaming updates to Pro version only, so all the Avast free users are not using the capacity I guess.

No that's not the reason .. Let's wait until we get an official reply (just like we got a week ago).

Seeing as avast has new technologies on the horizon,i suspect something is going on at the backend so a few disruptions are inevitable.

    Yes that's a possible reason.
