    You can get rid of the ads on the Pro version so you could custom install and remove the pro features and have no ads.

    There are very few ads now with Avast free. Last one, for me, was in April promoting their free Business version. A possible explanation for the reduction of ads here:

    I use Avast free on one PC and Avast Premier (without FW) on another and actually see no difference at all. So I won't fuss to get Avast lic anymore unless I need its FW (for now I'm satisfied with Comodo FW).
