Has anyone seen the trial ad for AIS? how often does that come up in the free version?

not sure. i dont mind it poping up but kinda hate popups like that. now Avira free 12 now uses a slider like avast update alerts. i wouldnt mind that.

When Avast! notifies you of a definition update with the pop up that rises from the bottom of the screen, it says under the definition update "More info". If you click the More info it takes you to an AD for AIS. Tip: If you don't want to see the AD, don't click More Info. I only saw the AD once.:p

It must be your copy. Is it a current version?

I've seen it and it's not that, it pops up out of nowhere..

It seems to pop up a few weeks after registering asking you to try AIS free for two weeks. Not really a big deal if that's all it does.

There were few one time test ads but nothing was announced recently. Must be something else in your case...

Are you sure you're not talking about Avira? That's what Avira Free does....

Several months of use and no pop-ups here. Something is being left out of this equation.

Only 2 other posters in this thread think they have actually seen the AD once. For some reason Broke gets it repeatedly. I still think it's his copy. Perhaps doing a clean uninstall and re-install might rid him of the repeated pop-up.

It's a marketing campaign that should be run 3-4 times a year.
avast won't become Avira for sure (as per their developers' words and also their staff).

If the popup is continuous, please, upload (attach) the avast log:
    C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log\Setup.log
    or C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5\Setup\setup.log

If the file is too big for the forum, post the last 400-500 lines of it.
