Another site blocked by Norton DNS as Advertising. Good thing there are proxies though.

I wonder how well it compares to Rapport, SafeOnline, and the like. Anyone see it uncheckable during custom install?

CreditAlert refers you to a site where you can sign up for the service. If you click on Settings in the upper right corner of the UI and then click on Maintenance, there is a CreditAlert Settings section. Untick the box that says enable displaying the alerts and you won't be bothered by it.

Improved..., solved..., fixed..., stuff you want to read in a change log.
But 'attempt'? As in; 'Well, we tried but ...'
No Avast bashing, mind you. Top notch prog imho, just weird to put such a line in a changelog.o_O

You won't, of course, be "bothered" anyways, unless you sign up for the CreditAlert service. I.e. the settings are only relevant if you have already signed up.

Hehe yeah, you're absolutely right. In this specific case, we were never really able to simulate the problem. We identified one things that could have potentially be responsible for the problem, but since the problem was not reproducible, we had no way to verify that it was really solved.

Sort of like shooting in the dark, unfortunately.

    Thanks
    Vlk

    Kid Shamrock,

Was too lazy to find that setting myself, but am glad to say goodbye to it. I can do creditalert stuff elsewhere, just not in my anti-virus program.

    Tks.

Avast firewall doesn't support IPv6? According to a couple of posters in this thread [ http://forum.avast.com/index.php?action=printpage;topic=79821.0 ], the Avast firewall can be run along side the Windows firewall. I don't know if Avast has actually stated that it is designed this way and that they support this or not, but I would rather not use both at the same time.

I'm not sure how exploitable one's system is if your running a firewall that only supports IPv4 with IPv6 enabled, as it is enabled by default in Vista and 7. If you're behind a router, then I suppose the router would have to support IPv6 for it to be exploitable, but I'm not sure. I've read that MS recommends [ http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/2009.07.cableguy.aspx ] not to disable IPv6, that some applications and services depend on it, but this seems more applicable to servers and large networks, and less concerning single pc end users or a home network, although "HomeGroup" uses IPv6.
