Speaking of betas, the thought occurred to me that Avast should be dedicating an effort to lighten the load a bit. It's OK to continually add features, but we have to keep fighting bloat.

Not much yet, but let's keep it that way while we're creating a new version. :)

    For sure.

Notice you are using Outpost with Avast. No issues? I have not run a firewall at home in a long time, aside from NAT router and Windows FW. Tis good? Are you bombarded with alerts?

I do think that v7 feels heavier than v5.

They work together fine. If you set the sensitivity right, you only get alerts occasionally. I've been running them together for 4 or 5 years now.

And no issues? Nice. I have AIS but did not install the firewall however. Is it any good? Assuming not since your on Outpost. But then again you are running the pro version of Avast and not AIS.

Since I have a "Life Time" Outpost FW that is really good to me, I didn't sign up for AIS, but Pro instead. If I didn't have Outpost I certainly would have chose AIS. :)

    Heh, good point.

Guess I need some tips on the firewall setup in AIS. Gonna give it another shot me thinks.

    Thanks.

its really a great av and it actually has a decent firewall which will only get better now that they are adding the outpost into it, its in my absolute top three and sometimes im torn as to which to use since i own so many of them but i always find myself with one of the three in my sig. now if avira worked and did not give me the bsod with sleep issues it would be a really tough call as to who would get moved out of the top three.... i dont even know if i could make the choice for sure.... i might have to have a top 4 since i really love avira just cant use it due to that.

Oversight or political statement? LOL! No doubt 8 support will come. Meanwhile I'll load it into my XP VM.

Anyone still getting BSOD-s with the pro on XP? SP3
i already had three since yesterday. I am a bit worried and i do not want to uninstall it . The first one occurred right after the update last night.
I hope it is sporadic and not a real issue
