Did they introduce new things in the paid versions?
I really feel their pushing too much in the Free version :D

Not saying it's bad, but since they depend on the paid version it will probably reduce sales?
And that is NOT a good thing for Alwil o_O

Sandboxing/restriction software is GREAT for an AV. :) Glad to see more companies are including them.

Just downloaded and installed the beta. So far so good. The safezone feature is not activated in this beta. Autosandbox feature seems to be running though.

its a toolbar button but i can not get it to work with ff4. no matter what i tried.

but ie9 its basically a useless long empty toolbar with a single icon and the rest of the bar empty. just drives me nuts. i went to avast due to the LACK of all the extra garbage and now it all starts getting added in. we'll see how well they do at keeping all this running light and smooth. all i want is a solid av is package without backup features and all the linkscanners etc... dont get me wrong ill use it since i love avast UNTIL it goes the way of kaspersky and others.. (not a vs b here just stating that they added so much junk it just killed the program for me after version 7)

Thanks Avast! for adding useful features in the free version:) Regarding Avast sandbox, I am using Avast Internet Security 5.1 and I see firefox history left behind even if the sandbox is emptied and the options to store history bookmarks, history etc unchecked in the expert options and I can see the sandboxed firefox history when I run firefox without sandbox. Is there any setting I need to change? I have also disabled automatically detect default location option.

i actually love the fact that they added the site ratings, just not happy its a toolbar, i dont see why AV companies cant follow what WOT does by just putting in a tiny little colour coded icon :doubt:

EDIT: scratch that, looks like my wishes have come true and its just an icon :)

IMO they should have left the features as they were before. (Sandbox, Script, etc. on paid)
Anyways that is MY opinion, i guess they know what they are doing. :D

Wait IE has a toolbar but Firefox does not? If they can get the web thing to work in Firefox without a toolbar why can't they do the same with IE?

    Are you sure?:doubt:

So why would you "Buy" Avast Pro for example?

Maybe to support the vendor since that seems to be the only reason (Buying) any Avast software now really. Unless they got some hidden (Paid) features to tell us about....

I can't believe people are complaining they are getting too much for free.

We are NOT complaining we are just WONDERING why one would pay for Avast Pro if you get the same features in the Free version?

I would by the Pro version because I like Avast, but that's really the only reason there is.

I just think it's odd and a little weird that's all;)
