avast 4.8

    is it safe to continue running it. Whats the difference between avast 4.8 free and avast 5 free because i dont see a difference

    4.8 support I think will be continued for another year. Version 5 adds stability to the engine, behavior shield, real time rootkit protection, heuristic detections, a new improved UI, improved generic detection and much more :D

    Version 5 is pretty much a new product, most of the parts of the program were rewritten/rearchitected from scratch... so it's kinda strange that you don't see any difference.:)
