IMO, these are the most important things to consider when you choose an AV.

You don't want a speedy scanner with good proactive detection rates and a fast viruslab (response time to new samples)? o_O
Also, FPs are difficult to manage for inexperienced users.
I have disk images and data backups to overcome an infection, but how is the average Joe going to clean up the mess caused by an infection?

Of course these 'features' would be desirable as well, along with detection rates and an average (at least) fast real-time scanner.

Kaspersky unfortunatelly its weakening with every test i see in the latest half of year. The proactive defence its not at an expected level for this brand. They compensate somehow with the speed of definitions release, but thats not enought.

Performance refers to the on-demand scanning speed.....Kaspersky has been known to be quite slow on that, but I doubt Marx used the iSwift feature* :D

In any case, the on-demand scan speed being slow does not mean the product itself impacts the performance of your PC significantly. :)

*or else he'd be pissed too about the chkdsk slowdowns (j/k) :p :D

Don is still alive and kicking I believe. His posts simply reflect his honest opinions of Kaspersky software.

Kaspersky always score good in tests. ;)
About proactive defence - Kaspersky=Avira=B.
What you forgot is that Kaspersky have something else not tested here - PDM who's detecting alone 99% of threats. But that is , most likely , not enough too...................

Avira is doing good with a constant , in all tests , very high detection rate.
IMO they have two things to work on - cleaning and , most important , self-protection.

    Good job from ESET too.
All they have to do is to faster add more signatures to their database.

The score in the proactive detection test is an average of the score in the heuristic test and the score in the runtime behaviour analysis test.

certain things once again dont add up for me ......

i wont go into the many things, but i will mention just one for curiousity-sake.

Bitdefender - scans my machine in 37 minutes (D)
Drweb - scans my machine in 1hr 14 minutes (C)

im not against Drweb or for it in this post, just 'one' of the many things ive noticed while looking at these results.
