If I am correct the next tests are to take place this month.
that being the case some new versions are not going to get tested this time; F-Secure 2010, Avast 5, and KAV 2010.

I had hoped those would be out in time, but guess will have to wait for the next series.:(
I would especially like to see how Avast 5 would perform.

    Regards,
    Jerry

I would have liked to have seen Avast 5's performance too.
Maybe the round of tests after this one.

No, Andreas' policy is to test only shipping products (or almost-shipping - I'm not sure how about MSE).

But we've recently added some new stuff to the v4.x engine as well (backported from v5) so let's see how it copes...

Regarding the availability of the beta, hopefully later this week.

    Thanks
    Vlk

MSE was supposed to get a solo test in August, I doubt they will pit it against the other competitors whilst it's in beta, if they do it will probably be OneCare they use.

I did not think about it being released in other countries. It is not released in the US yet, and I am not sure if that impacts the AVC tests. I hope not.
    Thanks.

Is there any date of the next publication of the AVC tests? I think that there is an August on-demand test, but have not seen any date of published results. I am not sure when they normally come out.

    Regards,
    Jerry

I think it is the end of the month Jerry. The last one said its last revision was around the 18th of September. Just cant wait till you can see Eset wipe the table again, can ya. I know the feeling.;)

It's kinda boring having to crown the same king on every test they do. Therefore you have to modify the awards methodology :D

Who really cares about the prizes anyway?
Knowing the detection rate is good for me.

The marketing team (including resellers I would guess).

Agree, I only look at the rates and judge for myself

So where's the test now? :doubt: AVC used to tell us that a new test is coming soon, now there's nothing.

There is always room for a new last place. j/k

Anyways honestly alot of smaller company's avoid these tests like the plague as it could be detrimental to there marketing if they do horrid. Or have to pull out of the test because they cant pass it, like some "AV's" that are known about here.

I'm not a long timer here. Does this refer to Comodo? I thought they were planning to get back into these tests. Although from what I can gather, their detection may have improved, though perhaps not by much, but they will likely have too many FP's anyway to be considered successful.
