Good to see that Emsisoft is improving their product where it counts.

Sadly I don't think it will do anything but again. I used to like it. :(

Great performance by Avast. It has always seemed to me the lightest among all the av I tried.

I find it heavy on my system also, so it's not really big surprise for me.

Did any of you click on the drop down test menu and look at the other graphs, such as false Alarm, Real world, ect. ?

Finally a test where avast! is positioned bast on actual experience with it. It was always somewhere at the back in performance tests even though on all systems that I own, it was by far the fastest.

The only FP's I get with 2015 Norton are the cloud based where the user community has not seen the file before or very few times and it is set to only alert not delete.

Edit: I just noticed Norton was not tested.

Once upon a time, there was an AV vendor that used to be light as a feather...

Glad to see such an improvement. Emsisoft provides paying options using CNY but sadly the download link doesn't work for me unless I use proxy...

I can only notice the impact of Windows Defender when I open a folder containing many exe files located on an HDD.

For most users it is enough to just edit the HOSTS file and add one of these entries:
    Code:
    72.21.81.253 dl.emsisoft.com
    93.184.221.133 dl.emsisoft.com
Download as well as updates should work just fine after that.

Hard to believe how heavy Windows Defender is, considering it is part of Windows 8.1. It was noticeable on my machine when I installed Avira, the system became snappier...

    Very good results for Emsisoft!
Not long ago they were one of the heaviest and now its extremely light and streamlined.
Good to know they really do care about improving their product. Money well spent for me!

Aside from Emsisoft big surprise, the usual suspects are at the top of the table.
BTW i can believe ESET was ranked so poor considering that most of the internet praises them for its simplicity and extreme lightness.

Eset is very light. testing varies in different scenarios. Infact emsisoft was still heavy from my experience. I have not tested the latest ver 10.
For some reason I dont not find kaspersky to be very light on my PC. it takes some more sec to boot and be responsive ( I think boot time is not considered in this test).

Overall, try before you buy. Dont completely rely on these results.

Exactly. You should never buy an antivirus without testing it first to see how it performs on your computer. It is often quite suprising how much the performance impact of different antiviruses varies from one computer to the next. An antivirus can be very light on one compuer, but cause noticable slowdowns on another. ESET products are a good example of this.

I hope Trend Micro 2016 will be lighter because it is a great product with great protection.
