Avast is strong. Its scanning speed and detection rates are very good.Is something changed by Alwil in Avast?

G-DATA is also very good.Does it have two engines?I remember one of them is Kaspersky's engine.Does that mean another engine is stronger?

Yes. Constant innovation and refinement. (Alwil is not alone in this of course.)

Actually, currently G-DATA use avast! and BitDefender.

Have you been talking to my wife? :D

Back to the, admittedly obscure, reference to "Capricorn One".
Yes! The movie about a faked Mars landing mission, a movie which some who claim that the Apollo moon landings were faked, might say lends weight to their argument.

    Still with me?

Now, when I read the av comparatives report, I, like Mr Steckler, noticed that only Avira, G-Data and Norton got a better detection score than avast! and that Avira missed out on 'Advanced+' due to FPs.

I read Vince Steckler's blog entry in which he mentions GData, Symantec/Norton, McAfee, AVG, Avira, and Kaspersky. But it's the Norton reference that's got the conspiracy theorist's going.

The pinnacle of which is this post. Well, the theory that a company CEO, secretly still working for his previous employer, exercises this hidden agenda by advocating in favour of the previous employer while blogging for his current one... Come in faked-moon-landing theorists!
A slightly more likely theory IMHO is that he is simply summarizing the test results in a manner most favourable for his present employer's product, without being afraid to mention competitors.

there will be other five tests released this year which will also be taken into account for the year award. it does not only look at the four awards. so basically, everything is still open.

I think they'll be published as normally but there will be other tests , as well , which should appear previously - such as performance tests and something else...

Why Panda doesn't appear at av-comparatives?
Panda have to be agree or av-comparatives can just include Panda?

From the av-comparatives website-" In order to get included in our main tests, vendors must fulfill various conditions and minimum requirements."

Actually what you see is not far from the truth. A lot of their customers are throwing the sh*t at them. I did. KIS2010 totally sucks compared to KIS2009 (which had its own set of problems).

I fully expect Panda to fail if it gets tested. But I think that there's a 0% chance of panda being included in any the tests.

Have you tried Panda 2010 products? After I received the activation code(windows 7 launch party) I tried against various zero day attacks and it blocked most of the malwares.
In terms of resource usage its not that heavy at all but really can't understand why so much processes in task manager(~.
