People rely on these "tests" too often.decisions to use or buy a product are based on these tests.

if i may make a comparison.I have passed my driving test for well near 20 years now but im far from a perfect driver.

I base my judgements on personal experience.and not on tests.ok they give a general outline but dont provide the full picture.:thumb:

Lol..this almost exact conversation thread has panned out for like the last five unfavorable AVC results...

How about we try to answer this more important question, because either way something is out of kilter:

Who isn't rising to the challenge--Webroot, or AVC's testing methods?

Answer that and no in betweens/half-answers--just a pick a side and argue it, then most critically: propose a rough solution and SEND IT to the company you sided against.

...otherwise, frankly, all this thread becomes is a repeat of the last four or five--the same debate every time--trust results & ditch WSA or blame the methodology.

I'll go first. This may come as a surprise but I blame Webroot. Sorry, but if you guys can "revolutionize Internet security", then you should be able to backtrack and implement some function to detect files like other products can without the load of other products or at least implementing it uniquely which Webroot already proves to exceed at. Even if the only purpose of this is to be "more compatible" with the current test methodology, so be it...Jedi. (Sorry, Star Wars reference!)

When essentially none of the other products being tested are suffering from "outdated" testing methods, I hate to say it, but it's time to go with the flow--or better yet--fake it 'till ya make it.

I want to see WSA get Advanced+ in protection/detection in the next two tests. That may sound like asking for a lot, but in my humble opinion, they should have realized they needed to do something after the very first let down.

Webroot to withdrawn from AV-C or add a SDK OEM engine in the cloud (e.g. bitdefender) to sky rocket on demand useless detection and make everybody happy: tests results, trolls and marketing department. ;)

Dynamic test demonstrate that under proper test conditions you can appreciate better the potential of webroot (i.e. blocking 99% of malware out there).
Lets see how trolls can manage this really bad news... :D

Over in that thread Prevxhelp said:
I haven't, and I'm on maximum settings now, and still haven't, except for updated programs that require connection to the internet, in which case I get prompts to allow, allow once or block.

I haven't been asked for any user intervention back as far as I can remember (& my setting are racked well over) on any of my 3 personal PC's with WSA on - (apart from website warnings)

    Edited for stupidity -

that's just the de-facto reasoning given by wilders users to dismiss products that do well on pcmag. it just serves to feed the trend of pointless, 'provocative' posts on wilders.
