Prior to this year I have gotten my AVs from ebay sellers, and have had no complaints. Most are Norton or McAfee, but Panda and eTrust and a few others show up from time to time.

Especially if one likes McAfee the price is very low. My own experience has been very good.

I prefer Panda Titanium for customer. It comes with antispyware, firewall and av and it is very cheap on ebay.

Yes, Panda has excellent detection and is cheap. While eTrust has a reasonably good database, its heuristics are not very good.

Panda Titanium and Platinum have a very good heuristics engine...slightly behind NOD32 though.

But Panda heuristics are better than PC-cillin, Norton, McAfee, KAV, AntiVir, Avast! and maybe more which I may not have listed here.

But detection-wise McAfee is second to only KAV. Overall I'd say that you go for Panda.
