I am satisfied with my current setup (Sandboxie, AppGuard, EMET + firewall and image backup) to protect the basic integrity of my PC.

All my downloads end up in a dedicated folder, and I am looking for an AV that can be setup to automatically scan *that folder specifically*, ideally upon writing only. I would not want the AV to monitor other parts of my machine.

As I use different programs for my downloads (MiPony, uTorrent + 2 browsers) the option of VT Hash Check + DownloadStatusBar for Firefox covered elsewhere in the forum does not work for me.

    Any suggestions?

Best thing I can think of is excluding anything except the download folder. Some (most?) AVs can be set to scan on-write only.

This makes sense, I'll try it and see if it works
