Automatic updates disabled yet WindowsUpdate.log is alive in XP

    Even though I disabled Automatic updates and BITS services on May 2 (when it was enabled just for some IE update), WindowsUpdate.log continues being written in \windows directory. Like this:
    Day, after day, after day.
    Wasting my space. Seems really dumb considering MS doesn't even do XP updates anymore.
    WHY? Any safe fixes?
