As far as I can see, there is no process for automatically checking an image that has just been made. I recently went to check an image manually and found it was corrupt.

Had I wanted to restore the image at that point, I would have found it impossible to do so. Effectively, I would have had no backup. There is the provision for checking the image before it's restored but that's not much use at that point if it turns out to be corrupted.

Apart from the obvious process of manual checking, is there any way of doing this automatically after the image is created? If not, will there be an enhancement to this effect?

    Thanks

That is unusual. All other backup software I've used has the option to automatically execute a verification process as part of the backup routine. First it dos the backup, then it does a verification in which it compares the written archive to the original source.

    Hello wthrman,

Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

We are really sorry for the inconveniences.

Currently there is no option to verify the image after creation automatically. We will certainly implement this feature in future versions of Acronis True Image. Currently you may check the image manually under Windows or after booting from Acronis Bootable CD.

    Thank you.
