Attaching images to posts ?

Please, can someone help me out, it seems I'm stupid on this one. How did you guys attached an image to the post? I tried to do it in my control panel, attached an image from my disk, but it didn't apear in the post So I posted a pic with external link, which is not good... Could someone please explain how to do it so I can edit my post properly. Sorry for the OT.

When you click "Post Reply" and look under "Additional Options" (just below the reply window) you'll see a box titled "Attach Files". Click on "Manage Attachments" and then "Browse for files" on the pop-up window. Find the file on your PC and upload. This should do it.

Well, I actually did just that in my first attempt, and the picture didn't appear in the 'preview post', so I thought that it won't do. But now I posted it and everything is OK. Thanks again.

EDIT: I have another stupid OT question. Can I make the other paragraph of my text appear after the attached image?

Hello, it's me with stupid issues again. Sorry.

I was thinking of changing my sig and uploading a smalll avatar there in order to present myself better to the community. But I noticed that the http://code in my control panel is off when changing sig options. Now, mods, is there any way that I can put another avatar in my sig area? My apologies again, but this forum is the second forum I have ever beeen a member of, and I have no experience in these kind of minglings. :-[ Thanks and regards.
