    Hi,

I've just upgraded from ATI 8.0 build 768 (?) to build 771 and re-created the full boot CD. I have a computer with a 2nd hard drive on a Promise 20276 controller (built-in to the motherboard Gigabyte 7VRXP) The BIOS is set to ATA mode for the Promise controller (I am NOT using RAID).

Up until build 771 I had no problems detecting this 2nd drive from the full boot CD, but with build 771 I only see one drive, the main drive on the main IDE controller, this 2nd drive is not detected, instead it shows a lot of CD-RW drives when I try to save the image somewhere (the same CD-RW is shown 7 times, letters G: - M: )

Do you know if this is a problem with build 771, how I can fix it or if it is not fixable where I can get the previous build 768 (?) or the newwer build I've been reading about 773 which is not available on the ATI page?

    Thank you for your help.

OK, this build 771 is horrible!

I created the "safe" boot CD and I can detect the 2nd drive, but I have no network, which I need.

The "safe" boot CD has its own share of issues:

    1) I cannot create a backup! The wizard is broken, it lets me select the drives/partitions I want to back up, lets me select the destination directory for the image file, I type in a filename and the "Next" button is still disabled! The auto-generate filename button doesn't work either, it clears the filename field.

    2) The "Exit" menu doesn't exit, the screen turns blank for a second and then ATI shows up again (no, the computer is not rebooting).

Given how bad build 771 is, Acronis should remove it from their web site!

I would really appreciate it if someone could give me build 768 or 773 if it fixes these problems (I would prefer 768 as I know it worked fine for me -- I have no idea why in the world I tried updating to the latest build). Thank you for your help.

    Hello SirDracula,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/products/trueimage/).

We are really sorry for the inconveniences.

The thing is that our Development Team continuously updates drivers for Acronis True Image standalone version (when booting from Acronis rescue CD).

The latest build of Acronis True Image 8.0 is 774. We recommend you to download it at http://www.acronis.com/support/updates/ and see if it works for you.

Also we can provide you a link to Acronis True Image 8.0 build 768.

    Thank you.
