    From the publishers website:

    Manage your media without restrictions

While iTunes restricts what you can do with all your media files, i-Device Magic offers greater control and flexibility. It’s also faster to use.

Unlike iTunes, i-Device Magic Platinum allows you to:

    - Connect multiple Apple devices to your PC or Mac at the same time
    - Drag and drop files between your computer and Apple devices
    - Easily backup the photos, messages and contacts stored on your Apple device
    - Use your iPod, iPad or iPhone as a flash drive and store many other file types
    - Download videos from YouTube™, Vimeo™, and other sharing sites, and convert them to an iOS compatible format
    - Rip music and video from DVDs as well as CDs
    - Create iPhone ringtones from audio and video files

I 'm using for several years this little app, it works with Windows Media Player, no need the crappy i-tunes, bundled with "BONJOUR".

Try SynciOS (anyway, requires iTunes to be installed).

Dam, I thought this would be unnecessary. Oh well, I guess we will have to keep waiting and hope someone can devise a way to eliminate the need for an iTunes installation. Anyone have any idea why developers of this sort of software seem unable to package the requiered drivers without having to go the iTunes installation route. Can these drivers really be propitiatory to Apple and impossible (or at least very difficult) to replicate?

    Sorry I jumped the gun.

Now only if they could make this app work with Android, Windows Phone, CrackBerry, then they'd really have a hit on their hands!

I tried the portable version of this, its seems to be a pretty good tool..It gets into the system files as well as doing all and more than itunes...(I have itunes installed so I can't say if it will operate without)...However, I found that it will install legal (paid for apps that have been saved... api's)..Without need to authorise them with itunes....I have a feeling that someone who has a reasonable understanding of IOS would be able to install apps without cydia and the like if you know what I mean;)
