ASUS P4PE Motherboard and Freezes with Recovery Disk

    I have always encountered freezes when running the Recovery CD on my computer.

    It "appears" the Linux code doesn't like the Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5703 Gigabit Ethernet Controller on my MOBO.

    When this hardware was disabled in the BIOS, the freezing ceased and the recovery program ran perfectly.

    Kind of a pain, however.

    Hello --

    Ccan you please boot from the Acronis True Image 7.0 rescue disc and press F11 key when the "Starting Acronis Loader..." messages appears? After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please add "acpi=off noapic" phrase to the line and click on the OK button.
