I was confused if this browser session history has really a two entries.

Pls kindly check yours if it's also has 2 entries like mine. If this is only should be one, then how can I delete it... or is it safe to remove the other one? o_O

Do you\did you ever have multiple profiles set up? May be related, not sure. As soon as I can get back on my main PC I will check mine.

There should be only one --- delete the one with the comma at the end. ;)

Locate prefs.js in your Firefox profile and delete that line. :) Note: Make sure Firefox isn't running when you edit the file or the change won't take

BTW - as I believe you've asked about firefox memory usage before you may consider this -> http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers

Like Gerard; mine is set to -1

    Hello,
I'm at -1, both in Windows and Linux.

Slightly off-topic, but thanks for the info about which file contains the info shown in about:config, and which can be edited. :thumb:

Apparently when many (maybe all of them) extensions are uninstalled, the corresponding entries aren't cleaned out of prefs.js, so I've got quite a few orphaned lines left from ForecastFox and one or two others. And now I know how to get rid of those, thanks a lot.

Maybe this could be the cause why my firefox eats up lots of virtual memory....this two entries makes my browser "confused" and tends to be "stress". :(

    Tnx...

But I was wonderin then, how it happened that way? Why it produces two entries in mine while yours are only one?

What's the effect of changing the integer into -1? will it also affects the performance of the browser?

Where could I find it? I couldn't find prefs.js in the Mozilla firefox directory?

Pls give some detail and "steps".

    It should be something like = C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default
