    Hi everybody.
Does anyone know a bit more about the Arovax products, i.e. the Arovax Shield and the Arovax AntiSpyware? Are they to be trusted, or are they yet another shady apps themselves?
I would appreciate any thoughts about Arovax. :)

I tried it, but found that even when I deactivated the relevant features it would reset my browser settings to defaults and never-before-run page, disrupt file associations, and so forth, so I removed it.

There are much better APPS at this time than Arovax Shield and Arovax Anti-Spyware. Consider them Beta's, they have a lot of room for improvement and at this time they still have some issues. Hopefully in the future they will increase what they can protect against. I use them both for the record :). So yes if you like beta's or have good ideas on what to add to the products, download them for a bit and give them a shout on their forums of what you think.

    Beta-malwares are Arovax Shield/Anti-Spyware's strength. ;)

I don't think post #5 is meant to be helpful. Sad to say.

Arovax Shield is similar to WinPatrol. However, Winpatrol has more capabilities, is NOT beta, but is in a very advanced version.

WinPat is used by lots & lots of satisfied users. It has both a free version & a Plus/non-free version. I suggest you give the freebie a trial & (if you like it) switch to the non-free Plus version -- it's *$5 off* at the moment.

I'll vouch for that. :thumb: Winpatrol will always have a place in my security setup.

Same here - I updated to Plus a couple of years - its extra info on the various
services, etc. has been well worth it.

it's not a shady/rogue product, if that's what you want to know. As to it's level of protection, it's a pretty decent security application itself.
