Where I live, it is $1.10/litre [over $4.00/gallon] - $2.69 looks good from where I sit.... move over buddy. :D I was not joking about a Scooter - we just purchased a Suzuki Burgman 400 and moved into a condo with all amenities within walking distance. No jet setting around this year but I managed to rack up over $2,000 towards airfare or a trip of sorts on my travel visa card - Mexico or Hawaii, are you ready?

You have no idea how much I have to spend to rack up that kinda money in credits. I even put the downpayment on this condo on Visa [had the limit raised just for this one occasion & then lowered it. :D]

They are but watch out when you have your identity stolen as I did a couple of years ago. Fortunately, it was caught by the police before damage was done.

    If I'm calculating right...
Overhere in Holland you would pay for 1 US Gallon.....................

    [MOVE] US $ 7.28 !!![/MOVE]

    (conversions:

    1 € EURO = 1.24830 USD
    1 US Gallon = 3.785 liters

Current price of a liter gasoline = appr. € 1.54)

    So, brace yourselves...

Americans don't know when they are well off - the UK is one of the highest taxed nations on the planet - something like 90% of the price of a gallon of fuel is tax. we pay income tax, value added tax (purchase tax), road tax, fuel tax, national insurance tax, airport tax, savings tax, inheritance tax, house tax (stamp duty), council tax (local tax) tax on whiskey, tax on beer, tax on cigarettes - it won't be long before there is a tax on farting.

As i have already stated here, in Toronto right now, i calculate it out at about $5.00 a gallon. Althought not taxed nearly as bad as Britian , overall Canada is right up there in being taxed to death.

We here call it SIN tax.... Fuel, booze and cigarettes.

Its a bit of a catch 22 . If a country lowers taxes then people think they have more money in there weekly pocket now, yet there is less money for the upgrade of infrastructure and health and education etc. (as has recently been witnessed in one country). Which can actually cost the tax payer a lot more in the years ahead. However I think we are being had regarding petrol pricing.

90% of our taxes are poured down the drain by the people we elect to represent us - the other 10% pays for their exceedingly generous inflation proof pensions (which they voted to award themselves)

i would prefer to live in a low tax system because so much of the money that should go on infrastructure is wasted. the less money the government has got the less it can spend on fighting unpopular wars.

(oops little bit of politics there) ;)

How would u like to pay $0.12/gallon!

That's what it is in Venezuela with obviously high crude reserves and extreme government subsidies.

BeetleBoss just got $4.00 Canadian (a Two-ney and 2 Looney's) mailed to her from a friend. If you run really short, just let her know. I'm sure she'll let you borrow it for gas. :D

I might take u up on that. Fuel prices are rising again. $71.00 a barrel on the TSX today and i paid $1.04 a litre on the way home from work.

I heard predictions of a $1.30 a litre by august. Here we go again....

For a country that is supposed to have so much oil resources, the only ones i see benefiting from it are the Albertans. No sales tax and cheap gas. They are laughing at us now. :cautious:

It just went up to $2.79 a gal. today. and I just sold my Lincoln and bought a Mazda that gets 42 miles to a gallon. A bit better than the Lincoln's 30 mpg.
