Is it possible to restore an archive created with an earlier version of FD-ISR, or with a version from different company (raxco, pursuits for example) without any problem?

I would think that your plan works fine.
The new releases and different brandings don't involve file format changes of the archives.

I've never run the new server addition, so I don't know how crossing operating system would work. I have restored an XP archive back on to a VIsta system and reset it back to XP, but that was with Workstation edition.
