I did a backup today and noticed where I store the backup the date on the archive folder read from last monday. But when I opened the folder the date on the update was from today. Shouldn't the date on the folder change with each update?

No it's much easier if the original date stays on the first archive folder.

Subsequent backups to that folder will have their own dates.

How else can you work out, e.g. which is which, particularly if you are adding differentials to a base.

That way you can find the original base from the date, and whichecver subsequent ( differential or full ) is in that folder.

Try removing the archive from the list and re-adding, see if that updates the corrected changes.

Yesterday I deleted the archives and started from scratch. Seems to me this happens every so often when I have scheduled an update.
