Like the title says, what software in your opinion works well/compliments DefenseWall in protecting your system? As a new DefenseWall user myself I havent decided on what combination I'm going to finally use so any suggestions would be helpfull. Cheers.

    IME, all of these programs work well;

    LooknStop
    Sphinx Vista Firewall Control
    Norton AV 2009
    Kaspersky AV
    Sandboxie

But don't use any registry cleaner with DefenseWall.

I have used free Antivir with DW since DW beta-days and that combo has never failed to work together and no slowdowns either.

Threatfire has also been on for a while, but its off now since I had a bit of slowdown, but without TF I am back to speed. I might add TF again to test why and if I still experience slowndowns with TF.

DW will probably add outbound protection within 6 months - I hope - that will be a bonus.

I think DW + Antivir set on maximum heuristics is good protection for medium needs.

    Best Regards

Usually I would always run Avira on my system, currently using the latest beta. Its a great piece of kit, the only complaint I would have is that the bugger wont remember any of the rules I makeand the amount of processes running, but all in all its ace. Would I need to run with premium or would the free do a pretty good job?

actually with the latest update, they fixed the FW rules issue, if ur using the beta, it should have auto updated to it.

DW with Avira free and ThreatFire free

    Note AVira free
Set to check at writes only (because DW paralises malware, only check new arrivals).

    Note ThreatFire free
Add outbound protection + host file protection (out of custom rules). Change the text a little, because it such an non-informative text of those two custom rules.
Check at settings that you create a restore point before quarantaining.
Add both Avira's guard and GUI plus DefenseWall GUI and server to trysted applications

Very user friendly and very strong combo
