hmm thats actually quite interesting, anybody tested how it performs compared to apps like defensewall or GesWall? since it seems to be similar.

what i like it's the lockdown feature like anti-executable
you can also add executable files to be block like sys, temp, dll, ocx, etc, etc you can dirty your hands under this hood:)

It would be nice to see the testing though. I can't seem to find any independent reviews or testing videos of AppRanger!o_O

look first i will tell you in spirit they work similar maybe not same but close, appranger is a strong sandbox as it is sandboxie, geswall, defensewall, etc but the only diference it is that appranger has a behabiour blocker engine and also a scaner;) which the other lack:D more configurable.very good malware remover;) top notch i say:)
by the way all the software mention are top notch but what makes appranger especial in point of view again it is the scaner, not to mention they are just inplementing in the cloud scaner and it is very fast like a minute or so:thumb:

    From their pdf-

    1.1.1 Scan
AppRanger’s malware scanner uses two patent pending methods to find and remove
malware/rootkits that are very difficult to find and remove. If there is a rootkit or
polymorphic malware on a computer, AppRanger will find it.
Only malware AppRanger may not remove are “file infectors.” Those should be taken
care by anti-virus software, but in late 2008 AppRanger will support fixing “file infector”
    malware/virus as well.
AppRanger automatically scans the computer once and day and notifies the user if any
    malware is detected."

How do you know if something if an app is sandboxed? I set it up so that Opera.exe is boxed but I cannot see any difference.
