My ISP and router are not IPV6-ready. When they are ready:

Does the "new or changed program accessing the internet" detection part of a software firewall alert for new or changed programs irregardless whether IPV4 or IPV6 is being used? I don't need fine granularity of rules creation with specific ports and ip addresses...just to approve or deny new or change programs.

(I don't mind getting a new router but would prefer not to have to get a new software firewall too since these seem to be getting worse as time passes).

Are you using IPV6? You can disable it. Transition services is there to help people getting connected to IPv6. One of them is called Teredo. Enabled by default in windows 7. I disabled mine.

If your isp is not IPv6 then theres no us. Some network component in-between does not support it.
