    I wouldn't trust any encryption software that isn't 100% opensource these days

    Easy to use for all, or open source. Those are the two options we have today.

    It uses OTP only? No password you enter, you're just supposed to keep the OTP file safe?

    That... doesn't sound all that great to me.

    Would an optional extra layer of password encryption make FinalCrypt more attractive (in case the OTP key file would be disclosed) ?

    Storing away an OTP key file isn't exactly easy to use in the same way that FileVault is, you know.
