Are they trying to make it easier for the bad guys? I emailed them about it weeks ago and they just said they don't offer it!
FYI. PayPal addresses two-factor authentication bypass. PayPal 2FA is easily bypassed, teenage whitehat hacker says.
Thank you for this! Unfortunately, I only use it on the desktop and it took them like a year to remove it anyway. Oh well!
Paypal does offer the key fob authentication. It generates a random number that has to be entered. Solves the problem
The fob was never available here, but indeed I can now use a mobile phone as my Security Key. As far as I know PayPal never communicated this to me and I have not read about it in the tech news. So thanks for mentioning it. Enabled now.
I have used the fob for several months now & continue to do so. Something NEW: At some websites, when I tried to log on to my PP acct, it repeatedly rejected my PW. After a while, I tried this: (1) I entered my PW and then -- WITHOUT clicking "Continue" -- (2) I entered the next random number from the fob, directly after my PW, and then (3) I hit "Continue". Shazam! PP then logged me on just fine.
