anyone know why my dvd burner stop burning dvds but still burns cds

hi, i got crazy problems with my computer, can you help!

... i have been authoring using tempgenc, burning dvds with nero 6, i also have adobe encore installed just in case.

and now for some reason (after a good couple of months) none of my burning software will not burn DVDs, ive wasted countless disks.

but the strange thing is i can still burn cds.

my thoughts are that im forced to buy a new dvd burner, thinking thats the problem,

does anyone have any experience in these matters, and can advise me in anyway.

So it says the burn is complete but the disc doesn't work?
If you just explore the disc is anything on it?
What burning program are you using? What version as well?

Just to elimanate your burners drivers why don't you go to your dvd burner manafactures homepage and reinstall the drivers for your burner. since it used to work it sounds as if your dvd burner drivers may have gotten corrupted. [you have to start somewhere] your dvd and cd burners use different drivers
