I was looking on info about SecureAnywhere FW. You say it is good.

Can you explain in laymen terms how to deny elevation of unsigned programs in IE 8. It would be nice to tighten up IE.

I think I'm going to eventually give this a whirl.

    Thanks

Deny elevation of unsigned is an UAC setting which only works on Vista and Windows7. It is a mechanism Apple uses since some time. In order for any program to be installed on an iPhone, the program must be cryptographically signed. If there is no signature or if the signature is invalid, the iPhone will refuse to install the software. If the software has been modified in any way, the signature check will fail also.

I think WSA provides enough security and system protection from its own (without this extra security setting). So with WSA you can do without this setting, just use the deault UAC settings.

I use this deny elevate only because I have set UAC to auto elevate (without warning/prompt), this extra signed check protects me from installing (unsigned) malware (99,9999% of malware is unsigned). See https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1970519&postcount=20217

    Regards Kees

That link you gave is pretty straight forward and can be unblocked when necessary. The link is very helpful, thank you. There nothing like being a little safer.
