so then KAV is a bit better than mcafee for detection rate ok.

    But wat about featureso_O??
does mcafee scan the same amount of file types or moreo_O?
    is the program itself better.

    if u have a virus/worm/trojan it doesn't let u open it.
does mcafee scan pop3 and httpo_O

Yes I'm not sure about http but McAfee scans POP3.

It scans the same file types as Kaspersky, but its unpacker is not as good as Kaspersky's, but it manages to open files with unknown packer anyway through a method which I do not know.

The interface of McAfee 9.0 itself is nice, but then you have that SecurityCenter crap. And KAV seemed lighter for me than McAfee.

I'd say KAV's interface is better, and KAV has slightly more features, like the mni-firewall.

In McAfee 7 if I have virus/worm/trojan/adware/spyware it will pop up a box asking me what to do..it irritates me and I cannot configure it to automatically quarantine/delete.

If they wanted...but since they dont ever sleep :D they can put all adware/spyware/riskware detections into their database anyways...KAV does a good job at catching spyware and adware and riskware.

Riskware detection is not required...but I use it because mirc Radmin etc. can be used by hackers to gain control of my precious PC. Which is why I feel so much safer with it enabled.
