Wow, None is still a winner at 25%.

I would say that it's not necessary to add options other than AVs. It will just bloat the poll. Besides, the poll has limit of maximum amount of choices can be included, doesn't it? If one wants an annual poll for other security software, they can create it themselves. You have done very well in keeping this AV poll to stay alive. I appreciate it because I found it to be a good reference to repel all those "A vs. B" or "Which is the best" kind of questions for antivirus software.

I was just thinking about 1 option out of 36. Just like an experimental option. But yeah, I want to keep this as a reliable AV poll. One that expires regularly since we all know how everyone switches their set ups.

Yup NOD32 is the highest then Avast.
However if you consider all the options then the winner is None then NOD32 then MBAM realtime and then Avast.

It's not end of June yet. The poll is not over. Yet, you.guys are already starting to declare winners. Wilders crowd always like to go ahead of time...not the first time I noticed either. :p

I'm sure it's due to the multiple choice poll. People don't use AV on Linux, and quite lots of members here dual-booting Linux and Windows (and MAC, but that's not going to be discussed :ninja: ).

Yes dual booting/linux is probably the reason. I voted myself BitDefender and None for that reason. Still despite that, it was quite interesting that so many members in here actually run at least one computer without any AV.
But yes, I'd like to keep this as strictly AV poll as possible. Im still trying to decide if for the next poll i should have any experimental option or not. I think in this one MBAM Pro realtime was a good choice and I might keep it for the next poll as well mostly since it is a complementary product which behaves like an AV.

What, Linux counts? I never knew that, just thought more people don't find AV necessary these days.

Currently, I'm only using one of the options I voted before, and an unlisted one.

Hmm maybe I should make this Windows only poll so that all those mac/linux users don't skew the results.

And the problem is? I do realise it's not the best AV, but user often find it to be very light which is a good reason to use it.

It's probably way too heavy for me though.

The problem Roger is it don't catch anything. I would never run a sub par AV just because its light, but to each is there own i guess.

There are some adventages of MSE:
    - little to no bugs
    - least likely to crash and destroy your windows or cause other problems
    - no registration
    - no yearly renewal of registration
    - most compatible with MBAM and other security solutions
    - light on resources
    - free
I would say these are pretty damn good reasons to run MSE, especially if you are using it as a 3rd line defense to SBIE or MBAM or simply when someone refuses at all cost to run any AV because of compatibility reasons and what not.

That of course is a big exaggeration.

I use no anitivirus of real-time protection of any kind for exactly this reason.

Not... back when i ran the softwear my PC often would experience problems caused by malware, virus, etc. Things are better today and surfing habits have not changed.

Even MS isn't pushing it anymore.

Check out the bottom listing,,you guys can have it..
