although i use on-demand scanners only i voted none.

there was no mention of on-demand scanners in the list, like HMP, MBAM or VirusTotal, so i assume the author of the thread was talking about real-time AVs only.

I have licenses for Avira, G-Data and now trialing F-Secure, all of them are just standalone antivirus packages.

Stopped momentarily using Avira because it's not ready for Windows 8 yet and therefore I'm trialing F-Secure which I like it a lot, planning to purchase a subscription when my trial runs out.

I still, however, keep recommending Avira for my relatives, friends and colleagues that use Windows 7 and below. I'm their only "tech guy" ;)

Comodo Internet Security on my main computer, although thinking of changing because it gets in the way a bit too much.

MSE / Windows Firewall Control on slower machines because that combo is light and hassle free.

There is no spyware. I've never found any spyware an any of the various Chinese software that I use.

Avast 8 with limited shields running. No point on having Mail P2P and IM protection on my set up.

I have changed my AV from None to Nada,
and will soon try Zero and Zip,
as I hear they have no impact on system resources.
Old Xp is as quick as the day it came out of the box. :D
