What do you get when you combine a Tiny and a Sygate firewall? One from Antivir that is even better then both of the others.

Hmzz are you the funiest at home? :p

But can you post some screenshots of that firewall?

Does it has a IDS, block attacks for XX minutes/hours?

    Arp protection?

    Pass all leaktests?

    More info would be nice!

I have used the "Antivir firewall (Beta)",.. and I to would like to know how this comparison could possibly be made.

I know what you get when you combine Marshmallow Fluff and peanut butter. That obscure reference being said (:D), the firewall that I've seen developed by Avira at this point certainly can't be compared to those two former powerhouses.

The firewall component does its job very well. Its a basic, easy to use firewall that will keep the average user safe, plus its very light on the resources.

This may be true, however trjam posted that it will be better than Tiny and Sygate. I've seen AntiVir's firewall. In its present form, it certainly isn't nearly as powerful as either of them. Better usually is subjective.

Yeah i'd say at this beta testing stage its not quite in the league of sygate or tiny. But then again it all depends what avira are aiming for in their security suite. If they are like grisoft they may just opt for a basic, user friendly firewall for the average user.
