I originally voted for Avira free but updating has now become such a pain that
    I'm trying out AVG.

With mail security and a decent hardware firewall an anti-virus program is almost unnecessary these days but I still like to run the occasional on demand.

    None:

HIPS + FD-ISR + RESTORE IMAGE render AV protections completely unnecessary for my units and now i don't have to always deal with the hassles of updating, false positives, or the age old frustrations of any AV slowing down & taxing my system like b4.

If i did choose an AV it would have to be KIS. I found it lighter than all the rest plus very formidable.

I'm using Nod32 at the time and am very satisfied with it. I used Kaspersky prior and loved it as well. The only reason I prefer Nod32 is because for me heuristics is more of a priority than definitions.

Haven't used Avira but have heard great things about Antivir PP from other users, and it has been confirmed by various AV tests.

I still cant decide between NOD and Kaspersky... I started with NOD, then got a license for KAV, and now I end up swapping between the two... I really am going to have to choose on in the end :p

NOD32. It has a small footprint when compared to Norton or McAffee, and scored well in the AVComparatives tests.

    Avira AntiVir PE Premium. :D

Has got the best detection rate (about 70%) on the latest AV-Comparatives (even if it just got Standard level because of many FPs), and is very light on my computer.

I hate switching.. but Iv started getting those "chkdisk" errors that a lot of KAV users complain about... so I think ill stick to NOD for now :)

Kaspersky and for the moment testing Eset Smart Security. :D
I like both and since I'm using KIS on my laptop, I'm sure I'll put ESS on my desktop.
Both run great, but the last one is still a beta, so it can only get better then it already is.

    Update here.

I switched from Avira Antivir PE Classic to Avast Home due to the update issue.

Symantec Corporate Edition 10, NOD32 or Avira Antivir Classic.

I have loads of licenses for just about every AV rofl, well. NOD32, Kaspersky, Avast Pro and some others.

I think my Kaspersky has about 3 weeks left.

Currently with NOD32, might switch to SAV CE 10 soon.
