And to think that when I saw the thread title, I was hoping for fashion tips for the security-conscious - like an anti-spyware tie to go with the suit... :D

I always thought the "belt & braces" approach was the current fashion rage in security circles?

presumably spyware bad guys wear black suits with black ties, black shirts, black socks, black underwear, black shoes and black shades (and have black teeth)

the anti-spy guys must wear all white (which means their laundry bills must be appreciably higher - and they must get thru way more toothpaste too)

on a slightly more serious note if people didn't visit poker sites, "model" sites, game sites, use instant messaging, use p2p, open email attachments, click on popups then 90% of the spyware would never get thru.

safe surfing should be promoted like safe sex - if you do stupid things you are going to get infected - this will of course fall on deaf ears meaning that the spyware industry will continue to flourish and the black suits are all gonna be cruising round town in their new cadillacs with a babe on each arm - all because somewhere someone clicked on a popup.
