another flame - kav 5.0- mcafee 9.0

    can someone tell me, which is the best in performance, detection and resources between kav 5.0 and mcafee 9.0?

    Kav 5.0 will overall detect and clean more than mcafee 9.0

    If you say 'viruses' than McAfee is *slightly* better than KAV, and if you say 'trojans and other malware' KAV is *SIGNIFICANTLY* ahead of McAfee.

    For spyware, I'd recommend the following:

    McAfee 9/KAV 5.0 with ext/Xbases
    Spybot S&D
    Ad-Aware
    Also try Ewido Security Suite
    And remember BitDefender Free Edition too...

    By the way, do I remeber right that McAffe now also integrates Kaspersky engine? After that how can Kaspersky alone still be better?

    Macafee uses its own engine, NOT one from Kaspersky.
