    Hi there,

This is to let you know that we have started the Acronis Online Backup Beta program: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/online-backup/beta/

Acronis Online Backup is a service integrated with Acronis True Image 2010 Home for backing up your data over the Internet. Acronis Online Backup features include:

Encryption of data and transfers between client and server: To protect personal information from falling into the wrong hands, Acronis Online Backup uses the industry-standard AES cryptographic algorithm for encrypting the files before their transfer to the online storage. In addition, Acronis Online Backup uses an encrypted channel for data transfers between clients and remote server.

Discrete backup process: If a backup is stopped/interrupted for any reason, it won’t start over from the beginning. It will just continue on from where it got interrupted.

Automated schedule and backup data categories: For instance, a user can schedule the backups to the online storage to be performed at a time that won’t interfere with their normal usage of the computer (e.g. at night or during the lunch hour). A user also given the option of selecting files based on data categories for backup. This makes it easier for the user to backup all files of a certain type e.g. their MS Word or Excel files, thereby relieving the user from the chore of hunting down the files all over the hard drive.

Backup of multiple computers with one account: Opening a single Online Backup account allows the user to backup and restore files from multiple computers, depending on the selected Online Backup Plan. This also allows the user to view/restore files from all machines backed up under the same account on any machine being backed up under that account.

New interface: Simple, easy to use interface makes backup and restoration of your files a breeze.

The Acronis Support Department does not provide support to beta testers. Please communicate all issues and questions to atihome2010-beta@acronis.com.

    Thanks!

ATI Home 13/2010? But they haven't fixed version 11 or 12/2009 yet. So in three months we get a fresh set of bugs plus many of the old ones, again? Please say it isn't so! :'(

NO thank you Acronis I dont want ATI 2010.

    Shieber is 100% correct.

I can live with ATI 2009 build 9709 until I find a better product from a rival.

It is just a sick joke to issue another product without fixing the last 2 versions 11 and 12. ATI 2010 sounds like just more buggy bloatware.

Users are not stupid so they will see for themselves how awful the Acronis track record is of issuing builds that have had no real quality control.

As the gods of rock The Who said. "We wont get fooled again".

Well if history repeats itself we will be getting no further fixes for the current version and all previous uncompleted versions.
If Version 10 does not work on my next set of hardware I will almost certainly go for a competitor's product.
Version 11 is bad enough, Version 2009 is a travesty of a backup program so a trial version of 2010 should give hours of endless trouble shooting fun for those with enough stammina.

It is files and folders backup - not a complete image - but take your point.

Totally agree. What's going on, Acronis? It seems like they are in urge to make some money... We are a business that use Acronis TI and TI Echo... They just released a new build 8353 with a lot of bugs, without fixing them first, they then release Arconis B&R 10. And the worst thing is it contains even more bugs, it's like a beta without doing much testing and rush it out to the market...

Can you spend more time on testing and debugging your products instead of wasting time on designing a new version? I mean you don't need a brand new version every year...

Over the last 2 months Acronis have not been able to keep their servers up to provide download access to new builds like ATI2009 9796.

So who is going to be stupid enough to put their data on an Acronis server to which they will not have 24/7 access?

At one point the Acronis servers were down for at least 2 days!

I am confused, is the email address given by the OP to be used for all reports about 2010 or just in relation to the online backup feature?

I sent an email with this question to the address given, but have had no reply.

Apparently the OP is a 'senior being' at Acronis in the US, not sure why they did not include their credentials in this post, as at first I thought it a hoax post even with the link.

    Colin,

I thought the post was kind of odd too.

In case you haven't noticed, it has been reposted by Acronis Support and is now a sticky. It has the same email address in it.

Why didn't they simply pin this one up as the sticky - rhetorically speaking.

    Hello all,

This thread was submitted by our Product Management Team and the community was fast enough to post some replies before it went sticky :) So, I've added the sticky thread with the same announcement and left this one 'as is' for discussion.

Please note - I've changed the contact e-mail address in the both threads - this one and sticky. Please use this e-mail address for all the contacts/questions/suggestions regarding Acronis Online Backup Beta.

    Thank you,
    Michael Levchenko
