I think the previous questions are essentially- will there be a product released that is named Prevx 4 or not?

Has there been a date set, provisionally or otherwise, for the end of life cycle for v3 where connection to the cloud and/or license activation/confirmation will cease ?

I certainly hope not. I've got 269 days left on my licence.

No, and there won't be for the foreseeable future as far as I know. We still support Prevx Home from 2005 :)

I think it's probably safe to assume not. I don't think the beta would be called Webroot AntiVirus if Prevx 4 was going to be released under its own name.

That`s good news regarding extended support for older versions...

but will there be a cut-off point when we can no longer buy or renew the license of P3 even though development has ceased ?

Do we have to turn the Firewall off to run it along side other software firewalls? Its always been a rule of thumb to not run 2 firewalls together.

Is the name SecureAnywhere fully decided upon now? I believe it could be improved upon, to better reflect the applications features and capabilities.

Turns out, it is a suite :D

Well from the screenies that PrevxHelp has posted, i must say i like the simple/straightforward/unfussy look of the way things are laid out :)

As has already been said by others, it's a bit too lime green for me too :p If that shade is already committed ? might be better to tone it down a few notches ;)

Also as others have also said, the name is naff :p I'd like to suggest SecureSec, for eg.

    Under 500k for ALL that = :) a Major achievement = :thumb:

Looking forward to seeing how this pans out.

    I have one question pls:

The big plus for prevx was that its real time scanner used to scan on-execution as opposed to on disk read/ write by other Avs. What about this new AV, its real time protection will scan on disk read/ write or on-execution?

    Thanks

I'd like to also ask one more question... for now. :D

Once this comes out of beta, will we still be able to use it as we have been usign Prevx, just an detection intrusion system (as an always-on trial), rather than a limited trial?

Will this new Webroot make it into this year's AV-Comparatives?

I can't answer for sure but I suspect they might be a bit late.

How will this work if I currently have a Prevx 3 license? Will I automatically be upgraded to the new version? Or will I be able to upgrade for a discounted price?

I know it's probably a bit early, but how will the eventual release of the new version affect those of us who are currently using the Prevx/Safeonline Free Facebook version? Will we be able to continue to use this, or will it be phased out once the new version releases? I think I probably know the answer to that, but I'd like to hear something definite from someone in the know. Thanks!

I am just wondering if this is an actual working site and if anyone can access it?
Because all I see is a white background. -http://www.webrootcloudav.com/

That one is indeed inactive, only beta signup and feedback is available on that domain. But that will be the domain for final product, I expect. Therefore, I am quite surprised with the let's say "not bloody brilliant" product name SecureAnywhere. If you register and use such a domain why not use Webroot Cloud Antivirus, to compete with the (paid) Panda Cloud Antivirus.

It has been stated by EraserHW in this thread that this IS Prevx 4. It obviously has Webroot branding and utilises some of their technology in addition to that of Prevx which we all have come to know.

    I haven't seen that answer?

Maybe they should add "Powered By Prevx Technologies" if really "This Is It" as Mr Jackson would have said.

Yes I agree. Much easier to understand what kind of product it is with a "normal" name like that.
