Yes, definitely. We have a very aggressive roadmap planned for the mobile platform and detection is of the utmost importance as, convenience features aside, we're still primarily a security vendor. I'm having our mobile research team reach out to the testers to get a picture of why the threats were missed so that we can prevent it in the future.

    Thanks!

UPDATE - I've just added: Added BluePoint, BullGuard, F-Secure, IKARUS, Kaspersky to test results.

    Hi Pykko,
Nice to see Kaspersky doing well. :thumb:

By the way Pykko, what was the impact on the battery life with Kaspersky installed?

    Thanks,
    Ziaul

Any chance to test Rising free and Avast beta? I can't find an Avast link but here's one for Rising-

How is IKARUS as far as being lightweight and does it impact battery life?

    Cheers!

IKARUS seemed prety light on my test phone, but it takes 4-5 days of usage to give some adequate oppinions on that.

Thanks I may give it a try. I agree with the testing. What would you say gave the best protection and battery life?

    Cheers for this! :D

I would go for NetQin or BitDefender, both free and very effective.

I should mention BitDefender doesn't protect without an active internet connection. They take all the definitions from the cloud.

Any figures/quantitative results for use of resources/battery life for the products?

Using a high end smart-phone here and I have not seen any mobile AV suck up resources except Lookout. Even Dr Web and Vipre ran with light footprints on this Galaxy S2.

Since most smart phones need their battery charging daily, usage by AVs seem negligible compared to other uses such as using GPS, streaming videos and playing Games etc.

Is anyone using Zoner AV? I find this product very good. Seems light and dosen't kill the battery. Running it on a Samsung Galaxy. Not sure how good the protection is.

The Samsung S2 depletes resources faster than a speeding bullet.:(
Pykko's testing (which I highly appreciate) shows me that what I was using (AVG Pro) offers no protection  .

So I am looking at Netqin or DR Web.
Based on our experience with Dr Web, would you be kind enough to give me your overall impressions while using Dr Web?

    Thanks
    Cheers :D

I've been using it for a couple months. It's never caused any problems for me. Prior to Zoner I used Webroot and Dr.Web.

Thanks for adding BluePoint, quite disappointing though... :(
BTW, can you also add GuardX and Antivirus Free?
    Thank you!

Well, I didn't use these security apps long enough to provide good battery status measurements, but I can say for sure Dr.Web and Lookout were sucking battery on my test Android phone.
