   Is there some way to disable AMON from scanning files after a reboot. I sometimes reboot many times and AMON runs and runs.
   My mistake, it is not AMON. I will continue my search. Something at start-up in Vista HP runs for about 10 minutes or so and I can't find it.

   maybe you can try to stop startup scanning in scheduler
