Alternative to Hitman Pro

I'm looking for something to use instead of HMP.

There are alternatives to HMP, but not any comparable, in my opinion. I'm still amazed at how quick the scan is and still excellent at detecting and removing malware. It even has the Force Breach Mode, that quite a few users are not aware of. I think if you want something any better, as far as detecting and cleaning, you would need to go with a Rescue Disk like Kaspersky or Dr Web Live CD.

As far as I know, there is no alternative. If you want to use something else because HMP gives you crashes, try switching from "direct" to "compatible" disk access on the advanced options panel.

 

How long has VIPRE Rescue been around?
I've been using VIPRE for almost 1½ years and this is the first I've heard of it.

Edit in: Geez, I now see it mentioned on a customer feedback site back in November of 2009

 

Where have you been? On a side note, it still seems not to have an option to scan without removing whatever infection it may find.
