On this very forum, in other thread. If I can not trust dev, I can hardly trust the software. I stopped recommend it as well as Windows Repair.
@TairikuOkami I don't know how would get that idea based on any of the posts I've seen from Shane here. Personally, I'm extremely grateful form the many hours he spends developing Windows Repair, as it is truly an excellent product, and is very good at fixing Windows issues.
Another vote for Memreduct https://www.henrypp.org/product/memreduct From the same guy who made chrlauncher (Chromium updater) Latest release CPU usage is only 0.02% and RAM usage went down to 1.8MB Compared to 0.33% CPU usage and 8.5MB of Cleanmem
I have never used any memory reducing apps before, however, I do have a lot of respect for this developer and trust several of his other apps. My main ultrabook right now is using 4.6GB of 16GB RAM, showing some 11.1GB free RAM in task manager. I am wondering, would there be any benefit in using this app in circumstances where you never run into low memory issues? Are there any privacy or security related benefits to clearing additional memory? Thank you.

This is the one I been using on my laptops well over a year now and is really a benefit for me since I normally have about 12 windows from 2 different browsers open at any one time and in between can do video editing etc without the system locking up to force a hard reset.
FireMin for those who use Firefox or derivatives (PaleMoon, Cliqz, etc). Though FF has cleaned up much of its act on memory leaks, this product works well. If you have an old XP & FF it is a MUST. https://www.rizonesoft.com/downloads/firemin/ They have some good stuff including Complete Internet Repair and Memory Booster which works like CleanMem (not snake oil). His Ownership utility is also useful at times (Win < 10).

A little review of three of these programs. Cleanmem Positive: - I like the Mini Monitor. - Low RAM usage Negative: - The setup installs a service that runs every ~15 min. I can't disable this in the options. - The uninstaller has been placed in "C:\Windows\CleanMem\uninstall.exe" and the folder remains after deinstallation. GRRR MemPlus Positive: - Looks good Negative: - But because it looks good it uses ~60 to 100 MB RAM itself. - Update rate of the usage monitor dial is 0.5 FPS Mem Reduct Positive: - Low RAM usage Negative: - Design is very spartan. Winner: Mem Reduct
I may be mistaken, but I believe that you can change how often CleanMem runs either via task scheduler or else via the mini monitor. You can set it to run how ever often you want it to run.
- Did you tell CLEANMEM to also "collapse" the file cache as well ? I know that some programs create a VERY large file cache. I have seen file caches that were 1, 2 and even 3 GBs in size. And then a part of the filecache will be stored in the pagefile on disk. And that swapping data between the pagefile and the computer memory will slow down your system (dramatically). - Let's assume that you have a memory of 8 GBs and the "In use" memory (think: Resource Monitor in e.g. Windows 7) of say 6 GB then a file of 2 GB occupies 2 GB of that "In Use" memory. Collapsing the file cache with CLEANMEM will move those 2 GBs to the "Standby" part of the memory. That will force the regular Windows memory management to make a decision what to do with all the data in that "Standby" memory
